producer rapper

A producer who tries to rap, but typically has less skill rapping and more talent making beats. Producer rappers are some of the best hip hop artists, however. Some examples are Kanye West and J. Cole. Being a producer rapper is admirable due to the talent it takes to be both a good producer and a good rapper.

"Then, you know, I'm not gonna name no names, but people told me, "oh, he's just a producer rapper."

"I said I wanted to rap and people said that wasn't going to work, they had this term producer rapper. It basically meant you wouldn't rap as good as the real rappers."
