Old nic-name for a New Yorker. Comes from the days when it was New Amsterdam and the ruling Dutch wore knickers for pants. Since these were so commonly seen on the streets there, the name was then applied to the residents. Source of New York Knicks basketball team name as well.

She comes from three generations of Knickerbockers.

A woman who is always dressed to attract attention from potential partners/ one nighters. Can also apply to a woman who's great at picking up in a club or wherever she happens to be. Clicky (as in knows what she's doing/ how to get what she wants) and Knickers (referring to the Aus/ Brit slang word for womens underwear).
