Some well deserving,yet underated bands include Amon Amarth(Melodic Death Metal)
Behemoth(Blackened Death Metal) Korpliklaani(Folk Metal)

As for the crap descriptions of metal heads on here: We are normal people,we can't summon other-wordly rage to aid us in a fist fight,we fight just as good as we train to.
Some have shorter tempers,yes and that may be a product of the music,be we are normal.
Some may have few friends,but some have many,I have severeal,all metal heads as I am exclusive on whom I associate with.
The clothing is not a must-have to be metal,as some younger Metal heads may have parents who disapprove of the fashion.
Back to the music,Metal takes Passion,Commitment, and rage to play competently.So does Rap.Thats right,I said it.Rap And Metal are two opposing sides off music.One Mainstream and one Underground.They have the same Criteria to play.Rap has talent,it's just hard to see if you donb't have the ear for the music.There.I've had my say.

Get the Heavy Metalmug. A type of rock and roll music characterized by heavily distorted guitars, powerful drumming, and vocals often performed at an intense screaming level. Very counter culture, aggressive, and nonconformist. Usually played at very high volume.
It was made possible by advancements in electronic amplification in the 1960s.
In music, the phrase originated in the lyrics to the 1968 song "Born To Be Wild" by Steppenwolf:
"I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder

And the feelin' that I'm under"
William S. Burroughs used the term in a novel a few years earlier as a metaphor for drug use, but did not apply it to music.

Get the Heavy metalmug. The one genre of music that people can really get up and enjoy. Said to be started by Black Sabbath but some may argue Iron Maiden was the first.
Some sub genres include: Glam Metal, Thrash Metal, Black Metal, Death Metal ect ect.
Around the late 80s and early 90s Thrash metal basically took over the glam metal phase with bands like Panterra and Metallica.
But hey... at least they were good!
When crappy hip hop music and pop music started becoming popular is the 2000s everyone turned into a big queer.
Now metal is dead and as a result kids are afraid of teachers, smoking, cops and the overall society.

Metal settles for the lowest common denominator and it's musicians lack the taste or the balls required to perform real music.So they settle for bad lyrics,bad vocals,bad fashion (any fashion is bad) and generally show an extreme lack of intelligence,taste or style and a general lack of care for music and musical instruments other than guitar and drums.They're barely more musical than rap.
