Cancel culture is a toxic group of immature and/or narcissistic people looking to online shame, or “cancel” popular icons for minor accusations, later proven to be false. People often find celebrities they don’t like, point out a somewhat offensive thing they said years ago, or often photoshop tweets or DM’s, then assemble a mob to attack said celebrity. Often it is with the sole intent of destroying a celebrity they don’t like’s reputation, or gaining more followers themselves by being known as politically correct, when they are really racists themselves seeking to hate on other, non-racists. (Usually celebrities). Cancel culture can often involve racist accusations, but also sexism, anti-semitism, anti-LGBT, sexual abuse, animal abuse, harassment, or otherwise questionable tweets.
Person 1: I feel bad for John over some photoshopped tweets from years ago.
Person 2: I know right, if you don’t like a celebrity, just say that, don’t try to cancel them.
Person 1: Yeah, cancel culture and mob mentality really destroyed his career.

Any excuse good enough to cancel someone's contract early. Howard Stern, Don Imus several other stand-up comedians and even Morton Downey jr have said enough racist, sexist and bigoted comments that easily would have had them removed off the air today. Yet for some reason then it was ok, I guess because people then didn't pretend that there was no 1st amendment?

As far as the Dixie Chicks are concerned, they lost their contract because they catered to the people who put George W. into office and their fan base dropped them. Look at Kanye, he supported Trump and low and behold virtually most his flock left him.

Many of you should take heed of this because essentially large corporations as was predicted are now over shadowing the first amendment and pretty soon if you make a comment that's not offensive but they don't agree well your in tyranny.
If Charlie Sheen said something offensive in the new millennium, it wouldn't have mattered because two and a half men had such high ratings cancel culture wouldn't have been a factor.

Aaron Rogers shouldn't have to apologize to anyone. Really you going to let cancel culture going to fire Aaron Rogers.

EXAMPLE:

relative to the newest (2023) reprint of ...The chocolate factory - characters are no longer "fat" or "idiots" after changes by the publisher to make Dahl's works more in tune with modern times. The “enormously fat” boy in the book became “enormous”. that's a form cancel culture
EXAMPLE 2:
idiot n1 : change a 1% or 10% won't change it really, right?
idiot n2 : Absolutely. There are no such things as disclaimers that can be used to inform the user about the diverse structure of what was considered acceptable by past standards, but now is not, and by that understand that what we are going to experience is not to take lightly outside this specific context.
idiot n3 : hey that statue has a penis. it could be dangerous for kids to watch! let's remove it!
EXAMPLE 3 :

Obese is the n-word for plus-sized people. (It's not, and that's not a sentence to use lightly)

A popular trend among social media users allowing activists to publicly shame, or "cancel", media influencers for previous inflammatory posts, sexual allegations, and discriminatory behavior. Cancel culture surfaced due to the similar public shaming trend, the #MeToo movement, where women call out sexual predators. As a result of the cancellation, the individual may lose their job, their status on social media, and their reputation. Canceled people are mainly ostracized even to the point of social media users boycotting products or shows related to the individual.
Brock Turner is Cancel Culture's newest player and has lost his reputation after he was accused of raping an intoxicated woman.
