canonverse

canonverse is usually a term used in fanfiction and you can find it on ao3 which is a fanfiction reading website.

for example, if the fanfiction is of a tv show then if you say canonverse, it means that the fanfiction setting is still set in the tv show era.
if it is not canonverse, then it means the tv show characters in the fanfiction would be set in a different setting. for example, highschool.

PERSON A: I read this one fanfic the other day with Mike and Eleven hahaa
PERSON B: wow tell me about it
PERSON A: it wasn't in the canonverse, mike was a florist and eleven was a college student.

non-canon

A word used by those who write fanfiction. It refers to a idea, storyline, or pairing ect. that was not promoted in the original work the fanfiction was based on. Antonym of canon.

The fanfiction's plot was so non-canon that readers could hardly make a connection between it and the original work.

Caonima

Means either "grass mud horse" or "fuck your mother" depending on which signs you use to write it in Chinese. Due to Chinas strong Internet censorship you can't write the line as "fuck your mother", but it's fine if you mean "grass mud horse".
