approxinym

A word formed from the initial letters of the words in a series (as with an acronym), but with a slight deviation in the order or inclusion to form a more desirable word. The result is a word that approximately matches the series from which it was derived.

The Assistant Project Manager position was referred to with the approxinym AMP because Ben thought it sounded a lot cooler than however you would try to pronounce APM.

2. Continuing to talk shit after getting hit, because you're too stupid to realize you'll just get hit again.

First employed (unsuccessfully) by the Empire of Japan in late 1945 following the August 6 atomic bombing of Hiroshima and prior to the bombing of Nagasaki on August 9.

Me: "Yep. He went with the Nagasaki Approach. Figured they wouldn't just taze him again."
