Use The Dude

To Use "The Dude" on some one - to invoke the word "dude" when
referring to someone directly in an (often last-ditch) effort to relate
to that person on a less formal or "guy to guy" level.

Ex. 1.: "Then, I used the dude on him, but he still didn't get it?"
Ex. 2.: "I used the dude on him. I said, "hey, dude; that's weird."

Originated from an incident where a very distant acquaintance went to a friend's brand new house (they had just moved in,) took their portable house telephone, and christened their basement bathroom by taking a long and very stinky shit while making several long-distance phone calls.

Person1: Dude! Pull over, I need to use the phone!
Person2: Dude! We're almost there! Just hold it for half an hour and we'll be at Jake's house. You can make your phone call there.
Person1: Dude! This is gonna be long-distance! Pull Over NOW!
<20 minutes later Person2 emerges from the first toilet to be found on the side of the road>
Person2: Dude. Hope the next tool passing through doesn't need TP.
Person1: Dude?! <shakes head with disgust and pulls back onto the road>

The advice preached by some fringe American pastors to their congregations with regard to mask wearing and vaccination, who claim that Covid-19 is a “fake pandemic” and that they themselves would not take a vaccine—and that Donald J. Trump won the 2020 presidential election by a landslide, who would be re-elected as the President of the United States, be it in 2020, 2024, 2028, or even later (after serving his reduced jail sentence, commuted by the President of the day).

A conservative pastor from Tennessee, who is probably scientifically challenged, told his faithful uncritical church members: “Don’t trust the fake media, but use your Bible and your brain to decide whether you want to wear a mask or get vaccinated.”
