"Code Trailing" is a relatively new phenomenon in the software industry and primarily occurs in an agile environment. It occurs when worker A is working on a new task 1 and worker B comes from behind and modifies worker A's work on task 1 without worker's A permission to "be helpful" to worker A.

Ambulance Tailing

When an ambulance passes by and traffic moves off the road, so one takes the opportunity of an open roadway to (illegally) pass some people right behind the ambulance. Basically, you drive right behind the ambulance so that you can pass everyone just like them.

Ambulance tailing is a dangerous and illegal move.
