En klaphat (sb.) er en dansk opfindelse, der bruges til at klappe til fodboldkampe - dog uden sine hænder. Man trækker i en snor, og så klapper plastikhænderne på toppen af hatten.

Klaphat kan også bruges som skældsord. Ordet er ofte anvendt som stedfortræder for “idiot”.
