KompTronix

KompTronix is the Haitian KompAvant-Garde style of Vintage Euro-American 80s music.

A brand of compilation series featuring young and modern musicians performing reimaging 80s version of popular songs mixed with Haitian KompAvant'Garde Music.

Characterized by Electronic Music Technology or Electronic Musical Instruments such as Modern synthesizers, Sequencers, Sampler, Loops, Drum machines, Keyboard
(DX7), Bass slaps, Keytar, Electric guitar, Bass guitar, Vocaloid, Vocals, Chorus Vocals, Melody, synths, cascading harmonies, MIDI, Personal computers and Digital Audio Workstations (DAW), Backing Track, sound effects, and a synthetic sax solos.

The speed of KompTronix is between 80 and 110 BPM. (Anything higher or lower is unacceptable)

It's played in dance clubs and outdoor music festivals by mainly French-Creole and Crenglish speaking DJs.

Distributing KompTronix Music require the agreement of record labels and other owners of artists' rights for the Composition of the lyrics and the melodies.

The origins of the genre and term was pioneered by Negre. Marron Records' CEO and label Director René Guemps in New York City (2018)

KompRap

KompRap, the name is a portmanteau of Kompa and Rap, a sub-genre of Kompa & Beat, commonly abbreviated as K&B, originating from the Haitian diaspora, which combines elements of old school Haitian Kompa with Creole Rap or Hip-Hop music.

Key stylistic element:
Vocals include a blend of singing, Rapping, Chant-Rapping, often in Crenglish or Franglish, and usually Feature a Lead artist, Backing Vocalist and a guest artist who 'd contribute a guest verse.

Common variants include the verse-Instrumental-verse form and the thirty-two-bar form, with a focus on
feature puns, play on words and suggestive phonetic combinations, but the lyrics often contain long series of lines each of which rhyme with each other.

Modern synthesizer, Drum machine, Robotic voice, Key tar, KeyBass, EWI, Talkbox, Microphone, Saxophone, Electronic Drums, MIDI, Trumpet, Backing Track, Tombone, Backing track, DAW, Sampler, Loops, Drums kits, Electric Guitar, Bass guitar, DJ Set, Effects, Vocoder.

Other elements include:
Melodies, catchy hooks, Call and Response, Ostinatos, and a chorus that contrasts melodically, rhythmically and harmonically with the verse.

What makes KompRap interesting is that it alternates between a sung verse and an instrumental section.

All KompRap tracks always ends with an instrumental break.

A notable label of this kind of KompRap is Negre Marron Records which was founded in New York City 2018 by René Guemps.

Ethno-KomPOP

Coined by René Guemps, the Founder-CEO of Negre Marron Records, an independent Internet record label specializing in distributing Haitian music through digital audio formats over the Internet.

It is characterized by the innovative use of the song title within the lyrics, where the title is both the starting and ending lyric of the song.

Notable among the songs in this sub-genre is 'Ethno-Kompa,' a variation of an Ethno-Kompa song titled 'Ethno-Kompa.' In 'Ethno-KomPOP,' the song title is featured prominently throughout the song, distinguishing it as a unique and exciting musical style.
