Daily newspaper whose main audience are hipsters, students and other middle-class pseudo-intellectuals. Usually "liberal" in the sense of pseudo-left and fashion-left. Writers often try smugly to appear witty and clever. Regularly with product placement for "rebell fashion" like Apple.

Basically any developed country has a hipster daily which are usually referred as "quality newspaper".

Daimyo

The feudal lords who the samurai served under.

Each samurai had a lord in which he served. The Daimyo were known for their skill as generals and military leaders. Following the shogun, the daimyo were the most powerful rulers from the 10th century to the early 19th. The daimyo were only subordinate to the Shogun and only one man at a time could be Shogun. There were many daimyos all across Japan, but there was only one Shogun at a time. The samurai who had no lord were known as Ronin.

Daily Express

A British newspaper, founded in 1900. Originally a broadsheet, it has been a tabloid for the past few decades.

The paper was bought by pornographer Richard Desmond in 2000, and since then has been dragged downmarket in an attempt to cut costs. In fact, only 7 headlines are known to exist.

In August 2007 every headline from August 3 onwards was devoted to the missing toddler Madeleine McCann, often reporting on stories that for some reason the rest of the media would either not both reporting or put in a small column on page 25. The absence of anything remotely resembling Real News has caused many people to worry about the condition of the Daily Express for many years.

Daisy

Daisy is small and soft and very pretty. She is quite shy and finds it difficult to trust people, but this is gradually improving. She loves her food and is quite forward about asking for a meal and when she eats her table manners are not the best. She is very talkative, but is sometimes difficult to understand. She is not an intellectual, but sometimes exhibits some quite amazing insights. She hasn’t had the easiest of lives and this worries her sometimes as she thinks bad things may happen to her again. She loves to play and is very energetic, but she also loves to sleep and will spend hours drowsing with her eyes half-closed.

We got her from an animal rescue organisation, she’s a tortie-white cat and her name is Daisy.
