Kattegat Channel Conflict

An intermittent struggle between factions within the Holy Nordic Empire, the most notable being the Kulturpoliti, over a series of disputes, the most prominent being the question of legitimate succession to the Imperial throne, following the assassination of Emperor Gissur, by the Militant Nordic Publishers Accociation in 2050.

The Kattegat Channel Conflict is most famous for marking the end of armed military conflict by specialized troops in Europe and North-America, replaced with the massive scale brain-washing of civilian populations, dubbed meta-war, making the Kattegat Channel Conflict the first conflict in history to be fought solely through the control of broadcasting resources.

The conflict is considered to have ended with the collapse of the Holy Nordic Empire in 2066, due to the inability of the warring factions to agree over the matters of succession.

Various factions continued meta-skirmishing in the area well into the 2070's but with little effect.

The primary significance of the Kattegat Channel Conflict is three-fold, firstly it marked the collapse of the Holy Nordic Empire, secondly it marked the end of armed warfare with the advent of meta-war and thirdly it demostrated the dangers of meta-war by the complete meta-decimation of the Scandinavia, which left it a drone-state under the sway of The Eurasian Republic.
Damn, those guys just keep at it like it was the Kattegat Channel Conflict.

Nuclear Conflict of Interest

A Nuclear Conflict of Interest happens when elected Leaders give their support to the Nuclear Industry because they have received some form of Nuclear Payback without disclosing it to the public.
The number of Political Leaders that are being given money by the Nuclear Industry is rapidly increasing, is that the real reason we are being forced to accept more nuclear reactors and isn't that a Nuclear Conflict of interest?

global conflict change

When conflicts move from diplomatic disputes to violent or military exchanges. Sometimes the change is slow and sometimes there may be a rapid acceleration, where an area flips into a completely different state of conflict.
Global conflict change has heated up since 911, creating a completely different cultural and physical environment. Sadly the social sciences have not come to a consensus as to the cause or course of action. But the effects are even more glaringly catastrophic. Strategies to have the diplomats outsource to the military-industrial complex has only accelerated the warming process.

Credit Card Conflict

You're making a purchase over the phone using your credit card. The sales agent asks for your card number. You give the first four digits and pause slightly. Just as you're giving the next four digits, the agent says "Uh-huh," drowning out your second batch of digits. The two of you play "after you, Alphonse" for ten minutes, continually drowning each other out.
Agent: What's your credit card number, please?

You: 1234- (pause)

Agent (simulataneously with your next four numbers): Uh-huh.

You and Agent together: Let's try this again; we're having a credit card conflict.

conflict of interest

An unfair-to-the-customer motivation that money-hungry banks have to maintain someone's having to make payments on a loan for as long as possible.
I borrowed a thousand dollars from a local credit-union so that I could pay some local tradespeople to perform much-needed repairs on my home and vehicle. But then as it turned out, these "over-booked with repair-jobs" folks were not able to get to my repairs as soon as they'd expected, and so I didn't need the loaned money nearly so soon as I'd thought I would; I realized that I'd likely be able to pay the carpenters and mechanics "on my own" just with extra-frugality-saved funds over the next few months. So I merely returned the thousand dollars to the credit union within just two or three months after I'd taken out the loan; the clerk seemed none to pleased, since they'd only made about 22 bucks extra in the deal, instead of maybe close to a hundred if I'd taken a year to pay it all back, the way they had expected me to. Guess there was a little conflict of interest there.
