Song by early Garage Rock/Rock n Roll band The Trashmen from their debut album of the same name. The Ramones did a terrific cover of it on their "Rocket to Russia" album.

A great song indeed. Sadly most kids today only know about it due to it's use on an episode of "Family Guy".

Kid A: You mean The Trashmen's version.

Tom likes to surf and make webpages - he builds them for fun, but without deeper understanding or knowledge. He is a surfmaster.

verb. the action of quickly and fluidly moving a motor vehicle from outside lane to exit or vice versa, usually without aid of a signal.

You don't see too much freeway surfing on the I-5 anymore...just north of the grapevine.

deadline surfing

A deadline is approaching, there is 20 person-days of work to-be-done, and 5 workdays in front of you. While you wade through the doable tasks, more work piles up behind you faster and faster, pushing you towards the deadline. Then, the wave breaks, either you surf straight out of it with confidence and speed (you successfully finish work) or you crash and fall into the whitewater (which experienced deadline surfers call the "stuck inside a washing machine mayhem").

The deadline arrives, washes every crashed surfer on shore, while the experienced riders swim out to catch the next one.

(Aviation) The practice of flying a VFR aircraft very close to the tops of the clouds. Generally illegal in US airspace.

Metro surfing

Riding on the Washington, D.C. Metro (underground, subway) while not holding onto anything, hence giving the sensation that you are "surfing" in the car on the tracks, trying to stay upright while the car twists and turns.

Source: my friend Tara, who lives in DC, introduced me to this term.

Metro surfing becomes that much funnier to watch when people have been drinking.
