A round has not completed until each participant completes the purchase of a set of alcoholic beverages for that complete group. It is considered deeply immoral and stingy to simply 'get 1 back' for a single person in the midst of said round.

Rounding a price downward if you want it to appear inexpensive, but upward if you want it to appear expensive.
Joe, you should buy one, they're only, like 2 bucks!
Joe: They're $2.99, what a major rounding for effect you just pulled!

A metaphor for the repetitive and cyclical nature of a relationship or emotional experience, where one feels stuck in a loop of ups and downs, constant fights, and unresolved issues, unable to move forward or break free. Often involves revisiting past conflicts and feelings in a seemingly endless cycle.
After their awful fight, they found themselves on the merry go round again, unable to escape the cycle of arguing and making up.
Every time they try to resolve their issues, they end up merry go rounding, stuck in the same arguments and fights over and over.
