An annoying or unwanted person who latches onto others simply so they are not alone. Figuratively, like that piece of poop that latches on and does not want to let go. This person usually feels extremely uncomfortable during these situations.

There was no one to sit with at lunch today, so I awkwardly sat with a group of people I don't really talk to. I felt like such a dingleberry.
