It was made by multiple companies General motors (1977-1987), Transportation Manufacturing Corporation (1987–1995), Nova Bus (1995-2003) and Millennium Transit Services (2006–2012). They are powered by a couple of engines from caterpillar, Detroit Diesel and Cummins and pair with Allison or ZF transmissions. The RTS especially the RTS-06 made by nova bus were so popular and they were featured in a lot of movies based on NYC and also one of NYCT’s best bus they operated, they rode really nice, their A/C is cold and nice, their engine makes a nice sound as it goes (just like a HEMI) and they are the best looking bus ever made. Sadly MTA NYCT and other companies like NJ Transit retired all of them in 2018-2019 how sad that is 😢
