A common misconception is that a prep is someone who shops at American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister and pariticpates in school sports and activites. A prep is actually one who attends a prepatory school, usually on the east coast, comes from an old rich family and dresses in labels like Ralph Lauren and Lacoste. A prep wears sweater vests, plays tennis, is a country club member and is destined for a top Ivy League school.

Person 1: Did you see that preppy girl?
Person 2: Yeah. I'll bet she's really rich.

people's republic of berkeley

(Noun) Nickname given to the University of California at Berkeley in the San Francisco bay area.

Title is a play on the official name of The People's Republic Of China, and is bestowed on Berkeley due to its students reputation for fanatical (bordering on Communist) political leanings. E.G Pro-choice,Antiwar, anti-meat,fanatical gay pride etc...

Dave:'I was up at the 'People's Republic Of Berkeley' the
other day for a potluck dinner.'
Jim: 'Food any good?'
Dave: 'Terrible. These people did to vegetables what Hitler did to Poland. And then they start ragging on me about the rubber on my shoes.'
Jim:'What?'
Dave: 'Apparently they consider chopping rubber trees murder.'

Mountain Dew People

The opposite of health and vitality. Mountain Dew People (MDP) can be seen at your local mall, Wal-Mart, and throughout the community Monday through Friday with their young, unfortunate, government-fed children.

You are unlikely to encounter MDP at the dentist or hospital (except in emergency situations). Stereotypical uniform includes some type of undersized athletic shorts or sweatpants and an oversized t-shirt which displays some type of idiotic innuendo or was won on a radio call in show.

I went to Hockey game tonight with my girlfriend. Turns out it was half price entry and free hot dogs so it was filled with Mountain Dew People.
