The act of recreating video games in real life, often with disastrous results. Commonly practiced by people of the true gamer and Hardcore gamer persuasion.

gamer's eyeball

A common affliction among gamers where playing video games for several hours straight results in aching eyes that feel as if they are going to explode or pop out. This feeling can last for hours or maybe even the whole day.

Other Gamer: Maybe we should take a break it's three in the morning.
Gamer: Sure, but after this next checkpoint.

gamer's curse

The excessive urge to complete as much of a game as possible, in order to obtain achievements, trophies etc.

More often than not, the task involves completing a specific stage on a difficulty level that one normally struggles with, and due to the achievement, they push themselves to get it, often repeatedly failing at one point, and eventually getting beyond frustrated over it, becoming difficult to interact with during this moment of anger.

Jack: "Hey, what's up with John? I was going to ask him if he's going out today but he was obviously pissed off in the way he responded."

Joseph: "He's experiencing gamer's curse."

Jack: "Oh, please...how people get so worked up over games is beyond me."

Joseph: "Hey, if you'd spent over an hour trying to clear something that can be done in under 10 minutes, and you STILL hadn't done it, I'm pretty sure you'd be pissed off, too."

The (official) language of those who inhabit the gaming community. It is similar to the English language (utilizes some terms of the English language), and some of the terms can also be applied to real life scenarios.

Gamernun

A master level female gaming hermit who has little to no social interaction outside of PVP or in game chat. The Gamernun says very little in chat even after she has wiped the floor with all of her opponents. Many times they are master healers who carry the entire Guild/Clan. The Gamernun always wins honorably and never cheats. The Gamernun is sometimes vegetarian, but should never be confused with a herbivore, their power is omnipotent despite their humble nature and their gamer score legendary. (See also Gamermonk)
