Collingwood Holiday

This term is applied when a person in your company is sacked / made redundant with no explaination from management as to why or indeed if they have been let go. First came into existence circa July 2011 at a company based in central England.

Paul: I have a call for Joe but he isn't answering
Jim: I heard from management that he is on holiday
Paul: Ah, it must be a Collingwood Holiday after yesterdays run in with management and punch up!
Jim: Poor Joe...... if you hear from him, pass on my best and I hope he enjoys his 'holiday'.

collying

Collying (or to colly) is done when you arrange an event/night out etc and someone who has agreed to go bails last minute with a poor excuse that you can't challenge, usually you'll get a pre bail text, and normally it's the same person in your group of friends.

Me "You still coming out tonight or are you Collying us again"
Him "yeah probably, I'll have to let you know"
Me "What do you mean probably?"
Him "well I'm trying to sort a babysitter out"
Me "Don't Colly me"
**20 mins later**

Him "Really sorry mate gonna have to let you down tonight can't get someone to look after the kids" or some equally weak excuse
