"Doing single" is a term most people with social media know. It means that you can post a picture saying, "I'm single, date me" on like snapchat or something, or if someone asks you if you are single, you can say yes. If you are currently talking to someone, but you aren't cuffed, the person you're talking to might get angry if you're still doing single.

Get the single dogmug. An unreasonable philosophy usually developed through puberty in adolescent males, that one may never be truly happy with their lives without a significant other.
This tends to manifest faster and more severely in those who have been rejected by a romantic interest a significant amount of times, and those who find themselves isolated in an environment where “everyone else” seems to have a partner.
This syndrome hammers in the absolute “need” for an s/o, so much that the subject finds it even more difficult to, ahem, *obtain* one, due to its side effects of obsessive behavioral patterns.
Usually the subject may grow out of this philosophy and focus on bettering themselves rather than just getting a date with someone. But if it doesn’t, usually because of the neglect of a friend or family member to address it, this syndrome germinates into a sense of entitlement to an s/o, morphing the subject into a Nice Guy.
