Fish Loop

A playful, circular conversation where thoughts cycle endlessly without resolution—often full of hypotheticals, tangents, and deep dives into random topics. Fish loops aren’t about reaching conclusions; they’re about getting lost in the fun of the discussion. Sometimes intentional, sometimes spontaneous, a fish loop is the adult version of daydreaming—like mentally wandering through a "what if" rabbit hole with no urgency to escape.

Example:

phase-locked loop

Refers to an unfortunate situation where someone who had begun exhibiting undesirable behavior that others had initially assumed was his "just going through a phase" actually does **not** eventually "taper off", but continues to display said distressing attitude/actions.

My teenage son started being really rude and mouthy at age 12, and our pediatrician had assured me that it was "merely a stage he was going through", and that "he'd outgrow it eventually". Well, that was over six years ago, and if anything the boy's behavior is even more sulkily-resentful and anti-social than ever --- looks like a phase-locked loop to me!

Sugar Looped

1.)To trick or fool someone in a funny way where the party being tricked has no idea but others know.

2.)When someone is unknowingly the butt of a joke whilst other laugh and mock them behind their back

Example:

Damn she just got sugar looped so hard. She doesn't even know that he's just being nice to get what he wants.

Did you just hear me sugar loop the shit out of her she thinks we are friends.

Looping

What happens when you point out the flaws in someone's proposition. They begin to repeat themselves in an attempt the discourse from resolving. The conclusion they are trying to avoid by doing this is that "they're full of shit." That's their defense mechanism.
