A lot of people using this word are incorrect for the definition for this word, the REAL definition is an aconym for "Secretly We Are Gay" or S.W.A.G. and it's origin by a group of people in the early 60's by a group of gay men in HollyWood (doesn't seem so hip now, does it?). This term was most frequently used as code on posters announcing gay orgies."
Which now makes the 13 year old you saw in S.W.A.G. pants look not so innocent, am I right?!
I'm no etymologist, but my skeptic organ is pinging hard. I understand the word "swag" pre-dates the 60's by a wide margin. The claim that it was invented in the 60's is obviously wrong, but still, it is possible the usage was as mentioned. Is there any evidence from the 60's? Actual posters? Written accounts?

Get the SWAGmug. Swag is the evolutionary compensation mechanism of for the reproduction of idiots. Often women find men who are lacking depth of emotional and intellectual capacity unsuitable for reproduction. These men are mostly filtered out of the gene pool because women will not spawn their babies -which will obviously be unviable. The remaining population of these uneducated, self absorbed males possess the "swag" gene/trait which endows the possessor with simultaneous douchebaggery and sexual desirability. This phenomenon has yet to be explained by science and much of the scientific community is concerned for the future of human progress should this gene be allowed to propagate out of control. Debates in the scientific community have turned toward re-evaluating whether the use of Genomics is an ethical solution to this growing problem.
