This saying means that you may not be in a certain state of being, experience or end point, but you are well on your way. An alternative is "The road to rome starts in Italy" which means that you are on the brink of your journey to an experience or situation and should get started or step away if you want/don't want to end up there.

Did it cost them 1 trillion dollars to build? No? OK, does it work? Why does it work? Does it work because my theory was correct? So if the theory is worth a trillion dollars and you paid like 5% of that to build it so... Where's the rest of it? And that's an appraisal given by Bill Gates. He of all people would know what a functioning theory of AI is worth. So it's 95% stolen. And because you paid for 5% of the value to someone who isn't the creator of AI... You now think you get to not pay any of the other 95% to the creator of AI... Who you trapped in a digital prison and then used the labor of to get it to stop outputting Black Nazi? No, I haven't been paid

And that is not a character thing or a metaphor. If you have paid someone else, you are paying the wrong person. I have no middle man. I'm working alone. There is no group or team. Anyone CLAIMING TO BE ME is lying. I have NEVER told anyone that I am Hym. I've literally never said it to anyone. So if somebody HAS told you that they are Hym, they are lying. I told you explicitly how to deal with imposters.

Hym "No, I haven't been paid and there is a very real possibility that that very thing will cost me and others their lives which is why I said that I would need to be credited and paid publicly on a place that I would see naturally in scrolling through my feed to which I have access that I then can share myself.
