After that, they get the fungal spores off the leaves and plant the spores in their cute little farms under ground. The fungus then grows and that’s the food that the ants eat (not the leaves). To protect the fungus from getting a disease and dying, they use the antibiotics surrounding their body to coat the fungi. Sometimes these ants can get confused and cut paper instead, as was studied in a lab by some entomologists. Favourite animal of all time. Have a nice day! 😀
