Zillennials

Also known as Generation Z or the generation born after millennials.

This group starts with those born in the late 2000's through the 2010's.

For a long time, many people could not come to an agreement on the terminology for the post-millennial generation, but this phrase has been gaining in popularity the past few years.

Those zillennials really don't know how good they have it.

Zillennial

A person born at the tail end of Millennials, but just before Gen Z starts. Roughy the years of 1995-1997 fit this small window of people born.

My mom told me I was a Gen Z kid, but I argued that I was Millennial by birth year. I decided to make a term to bridge the gap- Zillennial!

A Zillennial individual is someone who was born after Millennials (1981-1996), and born before the year 2000. They are not millennials but don’t quite feel like gen z either. They are the in between, the Florence Pugh and Kylie Jenners of the world. They might be your hot banker and new botox injector nurse. They love trashing on reality TV while consuming kardashian trends on Pinterest. They can’t function without a $7 froofy drink, but they don’t fully understand meme culture from 2016. You’ll catch them buying a $500 Shein haul at 8am, yet sporting their fast fashion to a climate change protest at 3pm. Most of them can’t stand a 9-5 so they opted to become realtors and influencers. They value a good low rise jean and stick their ungloved arms in the musty good will bins for hours on end to dig for vintage Dior. They try really hard to be girls-girls but they don’t hold Lana del Rey and Doja Cat accountable for being problematic. Many sufferer from eating disorders after consuming americas top model, K-pop, instagram coquette core, body checking, and brandy Melville in their youth, but are now obsessed with BBL plastic surgery trends, and gym rat culture. They idolize Timothy Chalemet, and the Hadid Sisters. Many aspire to change the world but only commit to performative social media activism.

Stacy says she’s anti consumerist but her new “day in the life of a Zillenniel” blog on YouTube shows her unboxing a $750 Temu Haul in her NYU dorm, plus I hear she’s studying environmental law.

Zillenial

"Zillenial" is a term discribing an in-between generation of people born from 1992 to 2000*, who are neither fully millenials nor Gen Z.

- Born before 9/11
- Remembering the times before Smartphones but also grew up with them
- If you ask them, they'll tell you what they are

*Others might say from 1990-2000, 1992-1998, 1992-2002, 1993-1998/9 or even 1995-2000.

Zillennial

A micro-generation between 1992 and 1996. Those who do not fit into millennial culture and relate more to zoomer (1997-2012) culture.

Rapid change of technology, politics, media, and life around the late 2000s and early 2010s creates a divide for people who were only children during that time. Being teenagers, late millennials often feel they are more on the side of Gen Z who were entering teen years, rather than relating to older millennials who remember and dealt with the world as adults before and during such a massive cultural shift.

Zillennial makes sense for early to mid 90s babies who only remember the 90s as childhood thoughts. Pure zoomers don't remember the 90s. Millennials owned the 90s.

"Being born in 1994 makes millennial culture feel kinda foreign to me. I'm at the cusp, making me a zillennial."

If you didn't have STRONG feelings when 9/11 happened, you're not a millennial. If you vaguely remember it or too young to understand, zillennial.
