Related to airline seating. It is considered to be a Mexican upgrade when the seat next to you is open.

On the flight from Amsterdam I had a Mexican upgrade, even though the aircraft was rather full.

When a person wants the latest and greatest release of software or hardware. Term used by professional/computer geeks in the Information Technology field. Being an upgrade whore has consequences, for example, glitches, bugs, usability, etc.

Tim upgraded to iOS 7, but now he is having trouble with his Wireless and bluetooth connectivity. That's what he gets for being an upgrade whore. He should have waited for iOS 7.1.

Euphemism for getting a girlfriend.

Stems from the idea that upgrading one's probationary license to a full license signifies maturation; as would the entering of an 'adult' or legitimate relationship.

Dude, you should grow up and get your license upgraded.

What do you mean, I hardly drive.

No...dude you need to keep up on your lingo--get a girlfriend.

when a huMan being needs to upgrade to the next level of life, job, career, relationsHip or consciousness.

Can be used sarcastically to those you wish to wake up or to someone you want to see achieve greatness.

Ex 1: Johnny is so caught up on telling everyone else to "move on" and "let it go" that he doesn't see he's the one stuck in the past; serious seventh level upgrade needed.

Ex 2: Sweetheart, I think it's time for a seventh level upgrade. You're boss doesn't appreciate you or your talent; it's time to move up the ladder and really affect change that will help people.
