Detroit roll

Noun. Pronounced "DEE-troyt roll"

A stack of bills, usually with a very large one, like a one hundred dollar bill, wrapped around the outside of about fifty one dollar bills. Effectively gives other people the impression that you are filthy rich when in fact all you have is one Benjamin and a bunch of Washingtons.
Jim wanted to look like he was ballin' so he whipped out his Detroit roll. Little did everyone know it was just a bunch of ones strategically wrapped in drug money.

Detroit Bankroll

A large number of small denomination bills sandwiched between two large denomination bills, typically $1 bills disguised by a single $100 bill. Typically a Detroit bankroll is used to convey a false image of wealth. Dates to at least the 1960s in southeastern Michigan.
My friend flashed his Detroit bankroll and the door man allowed us to enter the club.
