Yarn Monkey

The man who holds the yarn for the woman of his affection while she knits.

There are three main functions a good yarn monkey holds:
1.Helping convert a skein of yarn into a yarn ball while untangling the knots.

2. Unrolling the yarn as progress on the knitted project is made (also retrieving the ball of yarn should it roll under a table/couch or get trapped somewhere).

3. Providing companionship during the knitting process. This includes conversing, maintaining pleasant facial expression and providing compliments regarding the knitted item.

This yarn is so tangled! I wish I had my yarn monkey here to help me out.

Yarn wrangling

The term used in male prisons, mostly located in the midwest, for good ol knitting.

To knit doesn't seem as masculine as yarn wrangling for these boys.

When you match with a cute girl on Tinder and decide you're willing to literally ball yarn to hang out.

I hope she just wants to do some yarn balling and not actually harvest one of my kidneys.

Yarn Vomit

Yarn vomit, also called yarn barf, is a term used in various yarn craft online spaces. It often refers to when someone attempts to pull just the center strand of a yarn skein, and in the process pulls out a large chunk of messy yarn. It can also be used in reference to any highly messy and tangled length of yarn.

"I was excited to use this yarn, but it's just become such an unworkable pile of yarn vomit. I don't think I could untangle it with a month of work."
