That's a negative Ghost Rider

The saying originated in the movie top gun, when Maverick requests a fly-by, and is denied by the commanding officer.

It was later quoted by David Spade in a 7-up commercial, and has also been used in a few other less reputable media segments.

Basically, it just means no. The phrase Ghost Rider eludes to the pilot's alias, and is an illusion to the comic book character Ghost Rider (though I don't think that is significant).

Can I have pickles on that sub?

That's a negative Ghost Rider.

Yuki Nagato

Silence, awesome member of the SOS Brigade, headed by Haruhi Suzumiya. She is extremely quiet and a bibliophile at first glance; but, in reality, she is an alien sent to monitor Haruhi Suzumiya. Her primary duty is to prevent Haruhi from destroying the world subconsciously. Thus, Yuki uses her alien pseudo-magic to appease Haruhi's every whim, often to the vexation of Kyon, the narrator.

negatory

"No" - traditionally used over a radio where the short word "no" could easily get lost in static. Radio operators (and people who heard them) have brought it into face to face language.

<trucker 1 over radio> Is my turn signal working?

<trucker 2> No.

<trucker 1> Say that again, you broke up.

<trucker 2> Negatory. It's not working.

negative frequency

This is the frequency at which the human mind subconsciously thinks. This can be heard and detected by some. This frequency happens before time equals zero, as does a thought happens before time. Negative time and negative frequency are inversely proportional by the formula:
-Time=1/-Frequency.
Where Frequency and Time can be real and imaginary.
This frequency cannot be detected by many frequency detecting devices. It can also be known as a subconscious negative signal.

At that instant moment in time I reacted, I must have been thinking at a negative frequency to react so quickly.
While I was sleeping, my mind was thinking at a negative frequency.

negativity fountain

1. One who has so much negativity built up inside that they practically spew negativity/negative like a fountain spews water.

2. One who makes rude comments towards another without being provoked.

3. One whos only method of feeling better is to try making you feel as shitty or shittier than they do.

Negative Reinforcement

A form of learning where a subject is rewarded for desired behavior by the removal of a negative, such as pain, hunger, or a distressing noise. This term is often confused with punishment, which is the introduction of a negative (the punishment) to discourage behavior.

Negative Reinforcement is the removal of something bad. Punishment is the introduction of something bad.

Negative Reinforcement: "Good behavior" in the prison system, where the negative (prison time) is reduced as a reward for not causing problems.

In comparison, the original prison sentence itself is punishment - a negative introduced to discourage behavior.
