anorexia

Fun Fact: Anorexia is not Anorexia Nervosa! Anorexia is a symptom in which one refuses food. Anorexia Nervosa is a disease in which one refuses food for fear of becoming fat. See the Example!
Bob has Anorexia because his small intestines are nearly swelled shut.

Jane has Anorexia Nervosa. She won't eat because she fears getting fat.

manorexic

A man who thinks it is attractive to be skinny and lacking in muscle mass or any outward physical appearance of masculinity. The most amusing example being young, metrosexual males who weigh 120-140 pound and go to the gym to "tone" and "get cut", but fear "getting too big."
Last night when I wanted to squat there was some manorexic kid pumping out 20 rep sets of frat curls in the rack with the bar plus 10 pounds. When I told him to move so I could squat, he told me he never did those because they are bad your your knees and he was afraid the huge testosterone and GH release would cause him to gain weight.

anorexia

A very serious disease, which isn't always self inflicted. When a person, has a fear of becoming fat, so they don't eat. It is normally a female, because women are praised if they look good, and men are looked up upon if they have a high status or good job. They have a need to control something in their life, so they completely control their weight(thats what a Psychologist said). It can also be because of: fear of food, fear of becoming fat, or after a trauma in their life. They normally like cooking too.

Sigmund Freud also said its because they subconsciously want to look like a penis, but many people dissagree with his studies.
The Difference between Dieting and Anorexia is that:

The people who diet, are losing weight to look more atractive etc.

Anorexics are losing weight because they are afraid of becoming fat.

pro-anorexia

A newly recognized trend among girls and young women who view their anorexia or food restriction as a choice and/or a lifestyle, and not as a disease. Often abbreviated as "pro-ana".

Many websites and YouTube videos advocating the pro-anorexia lifestyle and encouraging solidarity amongst anorexics have been springing up recently, causing concern to health professionals and parents who fear that children might be easily influenced to "become anorexic" by them.

There is a similar pro-bulimia movement which is often lumped together with the anorexic community, called "pro-mia" or "pro-ana/mia". Some websites are directed at providing support and friendship for all eating disorder sufferers in general (including overeating), or people who engage in self-harming behaviours such as cutting.

Most of these websites claim to provide support only, and not encouragement to start or maintain an eating disorder.
Candace: "I'm pro-anorexia. I restrict my food intake. I have a strong desire to be thin, and I don't consider myself to be mentally ill. I know exactly what I'm doing. Therefore my anorexia is a way of life, not an illness."

Anorexia

It's a MENTAL DISEASE, nobody chooses to have anorexia, UNLESS if your a 'WANNAREXIC''.
Basically, it's a disease were you have a poor body image and want to be really skinny. And it really, really sucks. You can't exactly get rid of it, I mean you can get your eating habits better if you get help but just because you start eating doesn't mean anything! It never really goes away, and it's awful.
It's more common with young girls, not really common with guys.
Retard: ''Ha! Look at that skinny teenage girl over there! I bet she's just looking for attention with this entire ''Poor body image'' crap''.
Smart person: ''What are you talking about? She has anorexia you dumbbutt, get your facts straight''.
