Black Friday 

The Friday that comes once in every girls' life, in which she MUST decide on which seat in her friend's car should she take. Will she be kicking in the front seat or sitting in the back seat for the rest of her life? On this day, partying, and fun fun fun fun must be had. Some girls are even rumored to have an epiphany--realizing that Thursday was yesterday, today is Friday, tomorrow is Saturday, and Sunday comes afterwards.

Traditionally the day after Thanksgiving where most consumers start their holiday shopping. Many (if not all) retail outlets offer sales to bring in said customers. It is called 'black' friday because it is considered the 'official' start of the holiday shopping season, much like Black Tuesday was the start of the Depression (1929 Stock Market Crash). In addition, the 'black' also refers to when paper ledgers were still used, black ink referred to profit. Although Black Friday is the day where the highest volume of consumer traffic is seen, it does not carry the highest volume of sales. Usually this day is Christmas Eve or the last Saturday before Christmas. Recently some retail outlets have begun referring to Black Friday as Green Friday, to curb the common association of the color black to something of bad or negative nature.
