I live in Friendswood, and yes, it is filled to the brim with privileged, white assholes, but we also have plenty of good people here. HOWEVER There’s A LOT of racism and misogyny in the schools but most of us manage to keep up our grades sO iTs finE. And oh god the homophobia. I once saw a girl who spread a rumor about me saying I was lesbian wearing a shirt that said “Our schools conservative”. Yep. My friend got told by someone in the hallway “You know you’re supposed to have long hair, right?” Another one of my friends blew up on a group of boys because they had been LAUGHING at videos of PEOPLE HAVING SEIZURES. They asked if she was on her period. I hear guys say to their friends “that’s gay!!1!1” and watch the friend look at the ground dead inside.Our schools may produce kids who are kinda smart, but the dress code and some teachers are shitty. We can’t wear tank tops, wear shorts above our middle finger, wear clothes too baggy, dye our hair, put shaved designs in our hair, have piercings not on our ears, wear leggings without covering our asses, have facial hair, sit stand or bend over “unmodestly”, wear tube tops, wear shorts and jeans with rips above the knee, wear full length(trench) coats, or wear jewelry with locks or spikes. Teachers tell students how much they hate them. I’m so sorry we don’t give you the respect you don’t give us, COACH. The theater teacher was fired for verbally abusing his classes, being a creep, and watching porn while drinking ON THE JOB.
