Down to Earth 

In the context of non-Astronaut Earth-dwellers, this is a quality which refers to someone who is grounded without being in trouble. They have no choice but to consume and trust the information received from their senses. They attempt to understand what you're attempting to communicate and attempt to assure you that they are able to & capable of attempting to make sense of it. In contrast, those who hail from planetary bodies other than Earth, yet exhibit the same qualities, are often regarded as "alien".

Battlefield Earth - Book 

The book is awesome. unlike the movie its more believable. for justice should have been a 3 part movie that stuck to the real story.

Jonnie discovers how to exploit a weakness in the alien’s armor. He finds deposits of uranium in the Rocky Mountains that have been enfeebling his people, and that uranium is unstable and explosive in the presence of the gas the Psychlos breathe. When Terl finally prepares to teleport gold in coffins to Psychlo, Jonnie and his band of Scots replace the gold with uranium, which utterly destroys Psychlo upon transmission. The multi-galactic empire they had built is irretrievably broken. Terl, and the other Psychlos left on Earth are subdued and imprisoned.

Book goes on to what happens later - with the Psychlos gone other species from other planets appear. Our heroes use politics, law and relationships to save Earth again.

Battlefield Earth 

Perhaps the worst motion picture ever released, not just because of how bad of a movie it was, but due to the criminal fraud charges levvied on the producers, Franchise Pictures, for overstating the film's budget in an attempt to scam investors.

If you are looking for a movie so bad that it was a crime to produce, Battlefield Earth is the perfect example.

Flat Earth Syndrome 

A disease many motorists using the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn and Queens, exhibit, affecting everyone around them. Many people who are afflicted with Flat Earth Syndrome may not know they are infected. It is the cause of most traffic delays and accidents on this Road way. Flat earth syndrome bears its ugly face predominately on the Belt Parkway. A person affected by flat earth syndrome will begin to slow his or her vehicle as he or she approaches an overpass. The deceleration of the vehicle to ridiculously low speeds continues til one reaches a point on the overpass (the highest point on the overpass) that permits one to see the roadway continues and that the individual motorist is not going to fall off the face of the Earth, acceleration is than engaged but the effects of this bout is felt by motorists behind and sometimes can become contagious. This disease masks its self as "a cautious motorist" but it is just the effect of an insidious illness that affects thousands. This disease is unfortunately more acutely felt on the Belt Parkway due to the large number of overpasses, bridges, and inclines.
