Get the shame-gnoremug. When someone is tsunami shamed, their problems, big or small, are shot down immediately on the premise of ''At least you haven't suffered a tsunami''. It's hard to tell whether this is supposed to be comforting or or whether the person is playing the douche on purpose.

Bob: It's been a rough week. My dog got hit by a car, one of my parents lost their job, and I got a cold just in time for the finals.
