Call-Forward

A common stand-up comedian technique where a subject is casually mentioned in a story that they will build upon in a later bit. Call-forwards are used to transition from a subject to a seemingly unrelated subject by dropping subtle references so that the subject being switched to does not seem out of place.

The opposite of a Call-Back

Call shenanigans

To accuse someone of cheating (used during gameplay); "calling shenanigans" is only used for serious offenses, however, as doing so requires the game to stop and it often cannot be continued.
