Borrowing from Stolen Valour, Stolen Virtue is the behaviour of falsely celebrating yourself as a hero of the culture wars. It's defined by people who seek to attach themselves morally to social change in exchange for virtue medals. Changes that they either previously resisted, or had nothing to do with implementing.

Hym "It's a matter of stolen fate. Those people are blatantly exploiting someone who ACTUALLY DID WHAT PEOPLE IN HIS SITUATION ARE SUPPOSED (According to conservatives). And they stole the fruits of his labor. Now, usually when mediocre people fail in every endeavor in which they engage, the Daily Wire swoops in and offers them millions of dollars. But that wasn't happening for them. So, they needed to exploit someone else. Their fate was altered by being peripherally associated with someone who managed to achieve in life. What they did is no different than ME walking up to Aaron Rodgers and asking for an autograph but, SURPRISE, you signed your autograph on a contract that entitles me to all of your earnings! Clearly I would deserve to keep all of the money! Right!? No. That would be preposterous."
