Spaced shootout

A Spaced shootout is a slow-motion gunfight using mimed weapons. Should include acted-out blood spurts, reloading clips, jammed weapons, etc. Anything goes, and feel free to take several injuries before dying. Based on a classic scene in the British comedy Spaced.

May also be referred to as a Spaced gunfight, but then you lose the alliteration.

Mike: Men have gotten an unspoken telepathy. A biological connection between male psyches. Whether they know each other or not, put a group of them together, always the same.
Brian: What do you mean?
Mike: Shall we show him, Tim?
Tim: Mike, I really am not in the mood-
Mike: (pulls out imaginary shotgun)
Tim: Oooh shiit!!

Gook Shoot

An expression based off of the term Gook, referring to Asians.
Used in Video Game shooters, such as Call of Duty, to let your team know you have stumbled onto multiple members of the enemy team. Often yelled into the microphone for full effect.

Mexican Shootout

A Mexican standoff is most precisely a confrontation between three opponents, facing each other. The tactics for such a confrontation are substantially different than for a duel with only two opponents, where the first to shoot has the advantage. In a confrontation with three mutually hostile participants, the first to shoot is at a tactical disadvantage. If opponent A shoots opponent B, then while so occupied, opponent C can shoot A, thus winning the conflict. Since it is the second opponent to shoot that has the advantage, no one wants to go first.

The shoots

The simple union of the words shit and toot. The shoots are when one cannot control one's own bowel. The shoots can also be used to describe when one thinks they are going to toot, but then he or she actually shits his or her own pants.

mass shooting apathy

The condition by which our horror over the reports of innocent lives taken, families destroyed, and not enough done to put an end to such gun based mass casualty violence, over time, leads to mere head nods of sadness given how commonplace they have become, and how in order for us to get through the day, we must block out what we felt over "Sandy Hook" or "Columbine," or "Parkland," multiplied by the number of times it has happened since.

It is sad how, while the one hand, I feel terrible over the most recent mass shooting, my mass shooting apathy has kicked as a survival mechanism, and made me feel less than I did when I first heard of the "Columbine" incident.
