It is a style of rock/metal that utilizes metalcore qualities, such as the breakdown and the high scream. All vocals are either screamed or cleanly sung in a higher pitch. It is a direct descendant of hardcore metal and emo. Typical bands of this genre are Parkway Drive, A Day To Remember, Pierce the Veil, Asking Alexandria, Fall of Troy, and Arsonists Get All The Girls.
Sound: something like the bastard child of emo and metalcore.
