noctophobia

The intense change of emotions that occurs when the sun sets. Often non-frightening things turn very scary when night approaches and you are laying in the bed. Symptoms include: imagining the broom in the corner is a serial killer coming to murder you, carrying around a baseball bat just to go to the toilet, and burying yourself beneath mountains of blankets so the horrors of the night do not get you.

Oh my word! When my phone vibrated on my dresser last night, I was so freaked that I bashed it in with my fist.

Wowzers, dude. You must have had a serious case of noctophobia.

homophobia

A term created with intent to subtly pressure society into accepting homosexual behavior. Similar to young peers challenging one another's bravery or "manhood" in attempt to pressure each other to partake in daring activities.

1) "Hey, I understand if you don't want to fight him. If you're scared just say so. Everyone gets scared."

2) "Hey, I understand if you don't want to hang with gays. A lot of people still suffer from homophobia. We all have our fears"

Romophobia

The fear of the quarterback of your favorite team being on the field with the game on the line. Named after Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, the fear developed amongst Dallas fans when Romo choked in the biggest games of each season (most notably December and playoff games). Fans of other teams developed this fear, when their QB played like Romo.

Once their romophobia kicks in, many NFL fans can't bring themselves to even watch the 4th quarter of the game.
