The term “faggot” is has been notably detached from an individuals sexuality, homosexuality or just plain gay. To clarify that someone who you call a faggot is also gay, and not just being a regular fag, the spelling fagguette is used. This ensures that both their demeanor, actions and sexual orientation are attacked with the use of a single word.
