(FINANCE) a quarterly payment that companies make to owners of their stock. In theory, the source of the company's stock's intrinsic value.

A company's dividends are usually chosen to be as regular as possible; they can be considerably lower than the company's quarterly earnings, provided the company is growing in value. They are important, because they are the direct motivation to buy the stock.

The earnings from stock consist of capital gains and dividends.

Actually, there are 52 weeks of seven days plus one extra day per non-leap year. If you check consecutive non-leap years, you might notice that each date moves forward one day. This is due to the 365th day.

8/23/06 was a Wednesday, 8/23/07 will be a Thursday
365 divided by 52 = 7.019.

Divided Sky

An outstanding Phish song. It is the seventh track on their first studio album, Junta. Unlike most Phish songs, (The) Divided Sky sounds better on the studio version than it does live. Some people disagree but I personally haven't heard a better divided sky than the one from Junta.

I listened to Divided Sky and I was overwhelmed with an undescribable ecstatic feeling.

An event where a group of friends no longer hang out in a singular discord server and split into smaller servers. The cause of this phenomenon is usually the result of two friends having an altercation and the rest of the friends picking sides and joining the server of one friend over the other
