chauvinist

1. A British chav - a white urban Brit who enjoys picking fights with strangers and acting tough. Chav is a shortened version of the term and is used much more often.

2. A jingoist - a person who is fiercely nationalistic and will side with their country no matter what - right or wrong - and call anyone who disagrees with them a traitor. Common in parts of the UK and in the Southern and Midwestern US.

3. A male chauvinist - a man who treats women as inferior or considers men better than women. A sexist. Common in fundamentalist Christian and Islamic cultures.

2. Those stupid rednecks in the Bible Belt give us Americans a bad name abroad. Europeans think we're all just a bunch of gun-totting, Bible thumping chauvinist morons.

3. The Taliban are all chauvinist pigs. Look at how they force their wives to wear burkas and deny them basic human rights.

Cultural-Chauvinism

Chauvinism, though often wrongly considered to be gender-specific, is simply biased devotion to any cause, group or idea.

Cultural-Chauvinism, then, is simply biased, unreasonable devotion to one's own culture.

Idiot: My culture is the best!

Non-idiot: Why?

Idiot (in a rare moment of reflection): Because...it's the only one I know.

rackethead chevin

When someone uses a racket, tennis badminton squash whatever, to imatate a person. they take their glasses and thread them through the holes in the racket, and use a shuttlecock or anything else nearby and attatch it to the racket to simulate a nose. they then leave it nearby for the person to find. hopefully they will have no idea who did it!

I just did a rackethead chevin on that PE teacher over there!

Chavington

n. A Chav with some degree of class or restraint, who is well aware of the fact. A Chav with a belief in class system within Yob culture, and sees him or herself as being superior. A female Chavington may sport the Croyden facelift but will tie it lower on the head, and use a clip rather than an elastic band or scrunchie. A male Chavington may sport the requisite askew baseball/truckers cap, but it will be in subdued colors, with little or no decoration. Both eschew bling. However, a Chavington is still a Chav.

Sarah and Mike have become Chavingtons since he got a better job. They are always saying this guys a yob, and that girls a slag. And they would rather get a bottle of wine and stay indoors than come to the pub.
