What happens at the end of any Marquette basketball game when they play a reputable team. Generally involves coming within 3 points in the final seconds and then failing to take/make a shot.

Guy 1: Marquette lost to Vanderbilt by 1 point! With 2 seconds left Darius Johnson-Odom just sort of... tripped.

Guy 2: Well that is Typical.

A term used to describe people who conform to the usual or expected standards and patterns of behavior, often seen as lacking creativity or originality. It's often used in a negative or dismissive way.

1. "I'm tired of hanging out with these typical mailers, I need some new friends who think outside the box"

2. "This company is full of typical mailers, no one dares to speak out and share new ideas."

Canon-Typical Violence

Canon-Typical Violence is a tag on the fanfiction site Archive of our Own (often shortened to AO3). It means that all violence shown will have beleivable reasons. For instance, a fanfic that takes place in medieval times would be considered canon-typical if it used weapons from that time—swords and bows instead of guns and grenades.

Canon-Typical Violence is an important tag for me because I want to feel immersed in the world I’m reading about.
