shack job 

Dr. Laura's blunt and intemperate way of referring to any couple that cohabit without benefit of marriage. Also, and in particular, any woman who "puts up with" such an arrangement, regardless of whether or not marriage is in the foreseeable future. See under mistress.
Caller begins by saying: "Dr. Laura, here's my problem. I've been living with my boyfriend for six years, and--"
Schlessinger interrupts: "So you're a shack job."
Caller (hesitantly): "Well..."
Schlessinger: "OK, we've established that. Let's move on..."

The act of accidental shacking. Shacking with someone you didn't intend to or would never want under normal circumstances. Can also refer a person that you would shack with by accident.

One that is affected by cabin fever, i.e., about to go crazy by spending to much time home.
Between my being broke and this long bout of flu, I'm getting totally shack wacky.

An individual who cannot afford their own place at the beach so they stay in a "friends" place altough they are uninvited/ unwanted.
