C prompt

Semi-erroneous name for a command prompt in Windows.

Near as I can tell, it derives from DOS, where one would generally boot from their primary hard disk (invariably called the C Drive and be presented with a prompt that looked like "C:\>", indicating the drive they were on and their location in the directory tree.

Considered fairly obsolete, even amongst old DOS hats.
OK, now type 'dir' on the C prompt....

Promposing

Most often done around spring time, it is the act of asking someone to go to the prom with you.

It is a challenge every year to think up better and better ways to prompose.
Jack: Hey are you and Liz going to the prom next month?

Doug: Yeah man, I plan on promposing tomorrow morning on the PA.

I just spent at least 10 minutes in voice-prompt hell trying to speak to someone about my traffic fine, only to discover at the end there's an option to press zero to speak to a real person

Promposal

A combination of the words “Prom” and “Proposal” used when one is going to ask another to prom. Some get “promposed” with grand gestures, or just a note or face to face asking.

Erin:”A grand gesture! I know Sarah loves those!”
Blake: “Thanks Erin, you’re the best”
