Poverty Spec

Poverty Spec is a term used when someone orders or purchases a car from a brand typically known for their higher end clientele (Mercedes, BMW, Range Rover, etc..) with very few options. This is done so the purchaser will seem more wealthy than they actually are.

An example of a "poverty spec" car is a Mercedes C class with just the lighting options to make the badge glow and project the emblem onto the ground under the doors. These cars typically have little to no options other than those that show off the brand.

Please note that this usually can't really apply to super high end cars like Mclarens, Lamborghinis, and Ferraris just to name a few, but it is still possible.
"Dude did you see that fancy Benz drive by?"

"Yeah, but it's a poverty spec C class, it only had the base 4 cylinder and illuminated badging."

Compound Poverty

When you condition your mind that there is not enough money rather than there is more than enough, because while growing up, money was scarce, and your parents or loved ones were struggling to make ends meet—when you focus on saving money rather than making money.
Poor people tend to focus on their lack, which over time leads them to develop a compound poverty mindset; wealthy folks look for new streams of income that would yield compound interest by embracing an abundance mindset.

the invisible line that separates Target from Walmart

as seen on SNL Weekend Update
"According to a new census report nearly 1 out of ever 2 Americans has fallen below the poverty line, which is the invisible line that separates Target from Walmart. That's what it is. You didn't know that, but that's what it is." - Seth Meyers

"Hey man, wanna hit up Target?"
"Nah man, I'm below the poverty line, I can't afford that shit."
"So you shop at Walmart?"
"Yep."

"Focusing on the poor and ignoring the system of power, privilege, and profit that makes them poor, is a little like blaming the corpse for murder" - Michael Parenti

Poverty Pimp

Poverty Pimp: A pejorative term used in the U.S. to label a person or group; typically an elected official, activist, religious leader, social services agency or faith-based organization, which has appointed itself as an intermediary for the poor and the disenfranchised, but which unethically benefits either financially or politically from their position as a representative of a "victimized group." Such a person isn't truly interested in helping the people that he/she claims to represent, but is instead more interested in their own career(s).

Examples: Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Maxine Waters, Obamacare.
Welfare agencies are often poverty pimps because if more minorities emancipated themselves from the welfare state, those who facilitate the welfare would be out of a job.

Thunder Bastard Poverty Sicles

n. Warm weather snack, highly efficient anti-boredom tool.

Take one of the ready-mixed packages of Kool-Aid lemonade and sink the entire package in a pitcher of water. The higher concentration, the better. After all the Kool-Aid dissolves, get a bottle of lemon juice concentrate. Add as much as you feel like, a lot or a little, it really doesn't matter. After you stir that in for awhile, pour the mix into an icecube tray, cover it in saran wrap, and put toothpicks in each one, making poverty sicles. The end result will be a sickeningly sweet lemonade popsicle.

However, you don't have to use lemonade mix, or even the ready-made Kool-aid packages. You can use any flavor, just so long as you get the sugar right (or wrong, depending). I recommend a minimum of 10 packets if you're going to go that route, then fill the pitcher about halfway and add as much sugar as the water will hold. Test, correct where needed.
Tyler drew the short straw and had to test the first batch of Thunder Bastard Poverty Sicles. He took one lick and about went into sugar shock.

poverty

1. A condition that an individual exists in if he or she lacks the proper resources to sustain the minimum standard of what is considered a healthy existence. Income is often used as an indicator for poverty, though poverty can also refer to a lack of fundamental services, such as sanitation or healthcare, in the location that the individual resides.

2. Any kind of lacking of the necessary components or qualities
1. The homeless guy lived in poverty because he recycled cans for a living and didn't make enough money to purchase what he needed to live healthily. The African shepherd also lived in poverty, because the services necessary to make his life healthy could not purchased at all where he lived, even if he had money.

2. "There is no wealth like education and no poverty like ignorance."
