Members of a college class who are far older than the rest of the students.
These old-enough-to-be-your-parents aged classmates typically sit in the front of the class, arrive drastically early with noisome big-gulp sized iced coffees and tend to ask belaboring and basic questions.
Due to mass layoffs and a degree-demanding job market, these masses of Baby Boomers opt to return to college, starting from scratch alongside twenty-somethings.

Over Learner

A person who self indulges oneself with seminars, newsletters, subscriptions and webinars relating to their field to be all knowing and powerful. Also seen as a nerd.

The over learner was beside herself when she didn't have any answer to the question.

Backpack Learner

A student who attends the beginning of class, but regularly takes off to "the bathroom" for ten-twenty minutes at a time, as if the backpack is going to do all the learning for him/her.

I always email my instructor at the last second to ask the most basic question because I'm a clueless backpack learner.
