Freeing up cap space

A basketball reference, describing the act of dumping a side chick to make room for a new hoe. Often used when the salary-cap is hit. It is often recommended to free up some cap space before taking on a big contract

Andrew: This new girl in my class is fine as fuck. That's a big contract.freeing up cap space is a must, so I can afford that. I don't want to risk hitting the luxury tax.
