Contrary to American belief, Filipino people are actually very much like the other SE Asian countries. They have strong family values and suffer from political corruption and Muslims. However, Filipinos on UrbanDictionary are clearly susceptible to raging for some reason. Anyway, here are some reasons other countries have us figured wrong:
*When, persay, a Filipino student arrives in the U.S, he/she is immediately under the pressure of American society at school to be what they keep saying. Some Filipinos will go along with it and become "ghetto Asians." Others will fight it. Still, others may try to stay under the radar so they don't need to hear any more ignorance.
*They believe that just because we were an export colony of Spain, that were all a bunch of Mexicans. While it is true that about 2% are part Spanish, that leaves the rest to be Pacific Islander and Asian. Even so, it's not your race that determines your personality.
*Since America is the dominant power, what rumors flow out of there are considered superior (to a diminishing extent, however).
*In other Asian countries, they are similarly racist towards Filipinos and face discrimination, thus, get worse jobs than if they were of different descent.

you mofockers... u dont know wtf a true filipino is.. lemme xplain it like dis.
philippines is made out of THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of islands (7000+). first human beings to step in the philippines are the malaysians..wen malaysians wer takin over d philippines, we speak and write in ALIBATA--which no longer exist. its not written n alphabets, or alphabets with aphotrophes n hyphen like vietnamese, or chinese, or japanese, or korean, or hindu, etc... wen i look at it, for me.. its a mixture of chinese/hindu. very unique. so anyways.. movin on.. damn spaniards!!! if they dint nvade philippines, philippines would be a well respected and culture-riched ASIAN country.
filipinos r only called pacific islanders coz people r dumb.. they dunno wassup so yea..right now, it's not shockin that 9/10 filipino is part spanish..

filipinos are the 2nd largest asian population in the U.S. filipinos were treated like the blacks when they were under the command of the white mofockers. in san francisco bay area california, back in the 60's 70's 80's... white cops beat every filipino they see. they call us "riot starters" and "bad influence" to the community. riot started..eh.. i kinda agree on dat. but bad influence? fuc no. shit mang, if it wasnt for the filipinos, san francisco wouldnt foggy at night n shit..(coz thats when they begin cooking rice) funny? no? ok.
youll see filipinos all over the world (other parts of asia, africa, north america, south america, europe, etc.)
filipinos (especially teens) who's born in the US don't embrace their culture...when they're called "asian" they get mad, they like being called "pacific islander" better...which reflects their stupidity and lack of knowledge about their culture.
damn im tired.. anyways. about me...im not full filipino. my dad is full chinese and my mom is filipino and spanish. her parents speaks fluent spanish...when i'm asked what my nationality is, i proudly tell peeps that im 100% filipino even though im not. im proud to be one.

Filipino
The only thing worth mentioning about them in the world stage is how they have been fucked by the white race.
The only race that constantly proclaims they are part White/Chinese/Japanese or Korean.
They have not the great history of the Chinese and their Ascendance into the next Super Power tales to speak of nor have they the innovations of the Japanese and Koreans.
The only thing they have and are shamelessly proud is how they are the only "self proclaimed Asians" that are fluent in the language and religion of their master.
Pinoys love to boost about how well they speak English while the REAL Asians can't, they fail to see that the real Asians have had great histories and innovations to be proud of while the only thing the "Filipino" can be proud of is being good at their master's language and licking his boot.
They fail to understand that the real Asian's resistance to lick another race's boot any race for the matter is not a weakness but a strength backed by majestic histories and achievements, and in the time to come, by becoming the next super power while the Pinoy have nothing.
A Pinoy will fail to see how embarrassing she is by proclaiming how well she speaks the language of her master whom she will desperately try to marry.
She will also fail to see how pathetic she is to the world by posting forum threads begging people to accept that they don't look like a "Typical" Filipino.
A Filipino should show some dignity by accepting who they are.

2. They are always mixed up for being either an Asian or a Pacific Islander. Officially, Filipinos are categorized as Asians and the Philippines are part of South-east Asia.
3. Others would say that Filipinos are the Mexicans of Asia. (Kinda agree on that.)
4. They look Hispanic due to past history with Spain. The Philippines was "discovered" by Magellan in 1521, who declared them Spanish territory. However, Magellan was killed and Spain didn't invade again until 1565. They had control from 1571 until 1898, when it was transferred to the United States after the Spanish-American War.
5. Most Filipinos have olive skin. I guess, you could say "naturally tan". However, not all are. Others have darker skin tones. There are those who are half-Filipinos that are fairer either because they have Western blood or something in them that made their colour the way it is.
6. Most Filipinos are known for being hard-working. Nobody is perfect so yes, there are those that are still lazy but there are more that are hard-working.
7. Not all Filipinos tok like dis not all chenge der p to f or vice versa.
