instafishing

When a person, usually a female, uploads pictures of herself to Instagram and then makes self-deprecating comments in order to get compliments. She is likely to describe herself as "grungy" and point out that she is not wearing make-up. This behavior also occurs on Facebook and Twitter.

When Mary saw Lindsey's latest Instagram picture of herself, complete with "no makeup" and "grunge" hashtags, she decided to unfollow and avoid future Instafishing.

instafronting

Fronting on Instagram ....in other words, posting a picture on Instagram making it appear that something is the case when in fact it is not.

Based on her Instagram pics I thought she had a nice car and a pretty face. One day she rolled up next to me at a red light in a 1991 Ford Escort with no filters on her mugshot. It was then that I realized she had been instafronting on me and 97 other followers.
